![]() If anyone has one that they like, please reply. Next on my list is the task of producing a "good" button profile for this combination. But I'm hoping that this list might help new pilots reduce the false starts and the frustration I have experienced in putting together a "good" flying system for ROF. Many improvements could be made, of course. Works smoothly and provides lots of "buttons". I keep the stick and joint covered with a gallon baggie when not in use to keep dust out of the joint.ģ. This modification makes the the planes easier to control and improves my "aiming". I currently use the "smooth" profile that Trackir provides.Ģ.Thrustmaster t-16000m joystick with two coils of the tension spring tied together with wire cored twist ties (2 or 3 should do the job). I mount the delanclip on a Logitech ClearChat Comfort/USB headset H390. I find that a powered ir clip seems to be more resistant to the tracking "flip outs" discussed above. Trackir5 with delanclip from Delan Engineering (UK). I have attempted to put many of these ideas into practice and have "evolved" my control system to the following point, which I find works quite well.ġ. Much good advice in the preceding comments for relative newcomers like myself. I ended up dropping the baseball cap and taping the clip with black stage griptape to the front of a cheapass leather pilot-style helmet sourced on Amazon. Your objective with camera placement should be to attempt to make the TIR camera plane roughly perpendicular to your face and such that when you tilt your head up by 45 degrees the camera can see the targets. The common consequence initially was that looking up and head swiveling to spot bogeys would cause TIR to lose the clip. My monitors are large and placed above 50% of my horizontal eyeline, such that I look straight ahead and slightly up to find my center FOV. ![]() The cam loses track also if it sees additional IR sources (like if you have a reflective surface behind you, the monitor or room lights can fool it).Ĭareful examination of the green target blips in the TIR config panel can help to isolate for this. My experiences with TIR and bizarre POV flipouts have all proven to correlate with the camera losing track of one or more of the three headclip targets, usually due to a need to place the camera in a divergent location than atop a smallish monitor. I have no idea why it's so klunky and multi-stepped, but it does work and I don't have to do it that often, so I haven't worried about trying to figure out a better way to do it. With mine, TIR minimizes itself to the notifications area of the task bar (or whatever the bottom right hand side is called) - once I'm outside of RoF on my desktop, I just right click on the TIR icon down there, and select "minimize to tray" - then another TIR icon shows up over on the left hand side of the bottom task bar, and I can left click on that icon to bring up TIR (it often comes up as a tiny bar up in the upper left corner, and I have to click again on the little maximize button (next to the red X) to actually see the TIR window). After I start Trackir and go into RoF, how do I get back into Trackir, either from RoF directly or after I have exited RoF? If I exit RoF, Windows tells me I have a copy running and so far I have not found a way to bring it up on the desktop. Thanks. Thanks much for your very detailed reply. Looking for ideas on where to go from here in my search to make this work. TrackIR 5 In Depth Download the Software. I am on a 50mb fiber connection hard wired to the router. Featuring a wide field of view, high frame rate, and 6DoF tracking technology, the TrackIR 5 dramatically increases situational awareness, adding depth to the PC gaming experience and pulling you further into the game. I have cleaned up all SSDs and done what I can to keep a fairly clean PC. PC is a home built (by me) of fairly new origin and everything checks good. I wanted to get Kuban, but if I can't get Stalingrad to work, not sure that would be wise. Not sure where to go from here except to abandon this game. ![]() Always the same error about something going wrong (their words) and reporting it to Microsoft and then given no option except to shut the game down. On game relaunch, it crashes to desktop either at the login screen (rare) or when I try to start after selecting any mission. ![]() Although I bought and downloaded from the IL2 site, Steam is running in the background, always has been. After it worked the one time, I shut my PC down, came back and relaunched everything as usual, trackIR, MSI gaming app, fan controller, etc. Just completed an 18hr ordeal of uninstalling and downloading the entire game and it worked once. Have deleted and re-downloaded the updates folder numerous times. Since the 3.001 update, game CTD every time I try to start a "mission" whether it be quick, career, etc. First long post and wouldn't you know it's about a problem.
